| On March 19, 2024, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Police Officers Chelsea Tamborra and Rose Kanan responded to ShopRite, 900 Madison St., on reports of a shoplifter who were being held by security. When they arrived, they learned store security had observed two women, later identified as 20-year-old Bhavya Linganagunta and 22-year-old Yamini Valkalapudi, both of Jersey City, pay for only two items totaling $8.74 before trying to leave with 27 items, totaling $155.61. Both women were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, processed on shoplifting charges, and released with their summonses and court dates. |
