Borrowing friend's car for driving test   Venky   10/12/2017 10:16 PM
My friend is asking for my car for his driving test. Should there be any problem with insurance or anything else?

Its ok far driving test but if something goes wrong or hit a vehicle/person then the insurance wont cover. You will lose your house or file bankruptcy

You should be perfectly fine. As long as hes your good friend you can give your car for the test.
Infact thats how most of the ppl who dont own a car get a license so nothing to worry about

yes you can use it as long as you are in the list of insurance holders for that car, instructor at DMV will check that while giving driving test.

If its Geico, easy to add your name in to the list at 0 cost, there will be an option as "one time driver" and fill in your information there, not sure about other providers.

you can... but if something goes wrong with car with friend driving then it goes on your insurance and impacts your premium going forward.
