Rental Car for Road Test in CT - Whetherfield Office   MP   06/08/2016 08:56 PM  

Hi Friends,

I have my road test next week in Whetherfield. I just have a question whether we can use Rental car for road test, If so what are all the documents we need to collect from Car Rental office. And also is it possible to use friends car for road test, if so do we need to add my name to his car insurance?

You cannot use the rental vehicle for the road test in CT.
However you can use your friend's car for the road test without adding your name into his insurance. But please check with DMV

Hi ,

You can use rental car for your road test if you have a Indian license and if you have entered US less than a year.
And you have to take full insurance coverage for the car you rent.

If you take your friend's car , you have to be added in your friend's car insurance.

To take the test in Rental car, you need to have the Car registration document which Rental company will not provide and without that DMV inspector will not allow for the road test

Last week we took a rental car and they kept Car registration document copy in car.
