property tax on cars in norwalk   HV   03/10/2019 08:52 PM

Hi,
I am trying to change my car registration to CT and was wondering if anyone knows what would be property tax amount on honda crv(original price $31500). the vehicle is one year old.
The mill rate in Norwalk is 30.499
If calculated for a price of $25000 the tax amount seems to be $762.45.... is this amount correct... ? and the amount seems to be quite high..!!!
Please help...

He is smart enough to calculate it, but how do you know its correct? You learnt some mathematics by pimping your sister, but you sure can not calculate tax.Your sister is victim of human trafficking, help her instead of posting messages
here.

You won't know what the cost town will assume for your car as it purely depends on year, make, model (Usually its several percentage of market value but I am not sure what's the formula). Here is a thumb rule, newer the car, higher the tax. so if town assumes value of your car to be 25K and that is the mill rate for your town then your tax figure is correct. To reduce that, there are only two options - either get older model car or move to a lower mill rate town, whichever works for you.
