| Please Help - How much time it takes for h1 h4 visa renewal? |

Hello
I am on h4, my visa got expired in November'17. My husdand has filed application, but as per him till date we dont receive even application tracking number. I want to visit India, so I thought he is lying to me. Please help its really urgent for me to visit India, is der any way I track visa status online with paspprt number, really it takes 7 months in it. I am newly married and came here before 7 months. I dont know my husband is lying or not?

There is no way you can track visa unless you have receipt number.. another thing is, since you are having H4 extension, you should have received receipt notice in your USPS mail as all H4 notices goes to person itself and H1B notices goes to employer.. and if its filed in or before November, not sure how will you find paper mails you received from USPS now..

He is most likely not lying. The way things are moving these days at USCIS and with all the scrutiny, it makes sense.
My H1 visa in normal processing took 6 months to get approved.
If he filed his H1 and you H4 renewal together, ask him to upgrade to premium processing(additional $1250) and you will get an answer(approval/RFE) from USCIS in 15 days.

Newly married, came here 7 months back, that means October 2017, And visa expired in November 2017, how did you get 1 month visa?
And you don't believe your husbands statement that extension is filed. How true is your story?

You can ask him for the extension receipt number and see the results yourself. If you leave to India now, you will not be able to come back until the extension goes through and he comes back do the stamping for both of you. Only then you’ll be able to set foot into the country again.
Extension is a big problem right now. We filed for extension in October and still no result.
It’s always better to sit an talk calmly and tell him your concerns and why you need to go back to India and also ask him how it’ll work out if you go back

Why would he lie to you and what benefit is he going to get by lying? Have some sense and chill.
You can still leave to India, if it is urgent, but cannot come back until you get new visa
