Guys, i am new to USA and my roommate is from some vilage near hyderabad, whenever I cook something and as soon as I am done, he comes running to the kitchen to see what i am eating, exactly samething happened with my previous roommate and he is also from the same area.it happens every single time. I am just curious why he does that, we do not share groceries and cook separately so it does not make sense. its getting highly annoying, can someone tell me why he does that...

He’s considering you as his friend and would just love to know what you made for dinner. As long as he don’t eat your food every day without helping I think there is no problem.

instead of posting here, talk to him directly, but politely.

Yeah man, he is just used to being over friendly with room mates. I know it can be an issue; you should talk to him and let him know you are not comfortable with it. If not directly, email him

Just tell him what you are going to cook beforehand. He just seems curiously and if u inform him he will leave you alone hopefully. Other option is to bluntly tell him to mind his business.
