Indians on the verge of getting famous for Fraud |

I used to rent out my apartment here and people would contact me. They would see the place and mostly would just move in right after.
Now, I get a call from a voip number, usually discovered it with a fake sound saying that they are in a place with bad connection and will communicate through some social media app, WhatsApp etc.
Then a typical story starts where they have to move to Connecticut soon and their company will send me a check for the deposit and first month rent. Check comes in (and it is fake bank check), then they say, oh my company made a mistake and sent my expenses to you as well. I will pick that is when I come to Connecticut. A week or so later, they message or call again saying things didn't work out and since you already submitted the check, please just send a bank check back to the person.
I know the game, so I never submit a check till I have the guy in front of me in person. And I have his ID on file. But I'm warning all people renting out here to watch it.
People who have contacted me already know who I am from my name.

Atif bhai.. these kind of people are everywhere. hey respond to all kind of ads.. even if you are selling something.. so here is a simple thumb rule I follow, show up in person or get lost. If they are really interested, they will show up. If they are fake, my time is saved responding them back and forth.

Ask them an ID and a reference first
