India Tax filing question   Amit   02/27/2018 06:40 PM

Have a question on Tax filing in India. I came to US on 2014, and i don't have any income in India. I have NRE / NRO in India and i use only NRE account for all my transaction. Should i still need to file tax in India?

I am keep getting this email with below subject from Indian Income tax department.

Since you earn interest on NRO account, NRO interest is taxable at 30% rate.. Ideally you should file returns with filing status as NRI.. My tax is deducted at 30% from NRO but when I file taxes as NRI, I get all of it refunded..
