Drivers License Transfer   Dheeru   10/06/2017 01:46 PM

Hi All,

I moved recently to CT and have a valid Drivers License from another state which is about to expire in 3 weeks. I want to apply for CT Drivers License. However, I have H-1B receipt notice which is not approved yet. Can I take my receipt notice along with supported documents to DMV to get CT drivers license. Can someone who had same situation or anyone who has idea on this can you please suggest.

Thank you!

Dear,

I went to DMV with my 2 current address documents (Electric/Internet bill/Lease copy etc) along with old license and acceptable ID proofs. I also carried my passport with Visa stamping and in your case you can carry the slip as well.

I got it changed same day, mine was expired but was within the DMV guidelines.

Thanks JS.

I will give a try next week as DMV is closed today.
