If you have more then 3-months remaining F1-visa on passport and valid i-20 then there is no issue most the time. When will your Stem opt will end ? and when will you join the college? If you already joined the college try to get valid i-20 which has signed on the second page for traveling. If you are on CPT try to come within three weeks.
