You gotta do better than that. Besides the suggestions offered above, start investing bit by bit. Low cost index funds like the Vanguards S&P 500 fund are good (VFINX). Biggest secret to investing is time. The more time you give your money the more it will grow (compounding - 2+2=4, 4+4 = 8, 8+8=16..).So even a small start helps because it will soon double then quadruple then become 8 times and so on. If you can have automatic deductions from your paycheck that is best because you won't see the money and won't feel the urge to spend it.
