Your rent is very high. You have to live in a slightly cheaper place. Try sharing an apartment or move to a smaller apartment. Apartment rent starts from $750 from a one-bedroom near the Hartford area. This can save you more than $4000. Cut down travel to India every year, this alone will save you $1000. Try visiting every alternate year. And don't party too much, maybe once a week. Everything else should be okay. I don't know your income so I cannot say how much in total you can save every year. I was able to save $50k per year, living by myself in a one-bedroom apartment costing me $1200/month. Groceries were $600 with occasional outside meals. Travel and recreation costs were about $600 per month. Good Luck.
