I wont say 85k is bad,Its an ok salary.big majority of h1b is on that salary.shifting of consultancy is not an option for many. S386 is dead in senate almost. I also heard about real job strugles back in india,especially for consultants.There are thousands of consultants out there.People stay here for better living and for kids.If you have a loving partner,85K is a good place to live in.Majority h1b gets between 65k-80k.IT managerial posts can be done by anyone.Some coders may have some option left
