I did drop box atleast 3 times and never had to do finger prints.. just landed in Mumbai.. gave docs to friend for drop off and collected passport later on.. Only caveat is, if your photo is not acceptable ( meaning in the correct proportion, then they may ask you to get new photo which will delay submission..)
