sharing an apartment with essentially anyone comes with a headache. ofcorse some roomies are more careless than others. your case seems to be the same, you just had a bad luck finding someone like that (considering all you said is true). the best solution for you is separate your things from him, including kitchen and bathroom utensils. buy your own utensils and keep them in your room. i had a roomie like that back in college and i know how you feel right now, so just try to live as far away from him as possible. divide the kitchen in 2 equal parts and tell him to always put his stuff in his part of the kitchen, same goes for fridge, same goes for stove. only share those things which are impossible to divide like bathroom (in bathroom too divide the closets in equal parts). the lesson to take from here is try your best not to share anything with him until and unless its an extreme emergency.
