No they won't let you if u don't have a stamped visa on passport even though you have a valid US Visa..It happened to me when I tried to go India through British airways..we went to catch our flight from Boston n here British airways crew said they won't accept i797 as they are facing a problem with fake i797s. We need to come back home without taking the flight..try etihad n there won't be any issues with it
