You may go for EAD application and include SSN request in the same application to USCIS or you may apply for SSN at local SSN office as soon as you have your I-94 status. You cannot work until you have your EAD and SSN both. I would recommend EAD and SSN request separately. SSN takes 1-2 weeks and EAD takes anything between 6-9 weeks if all your paperwork is in place.
