Thank you so much for your reply. Really appreciate the help. The money was a gift from parents and deposited in Fixed Deposit account. The problem is that I did not file the FinCen form, so when I file it this year it will be two years too late. It’s not a huge amount of money but still more than the $10,000 threshold for FinCen declaration. I just wasn’t aware that I had to do this even when I am not a US citizen. How to clean up this issue? Is that a big problem?
