May be it varies from location in india, My home town is full of industries area. So rental building is top investment. Let me gave example from my own family. My Uncle had invested in one build with (160 feet * 80 feet) around 2000, i heard it cost around 20 Lakhs (not exact amount, which i heard from my parents). And he gave for rent of 10000 thousand in year 2000, now for the same building he is getting 75000 thousand per month with these 17 years only two renter got changed. So it doesn't matter when we are investing on building, but where and for which business area it is.
