Male passengers can bring gold without duty for upto RS 50000 in value. Female passengers can bring upto Rs 1 lakh worth gold. Even children older than 2 years can bring their own gold. You have pay customs duty of 10% of the total value more than the above money limit. gold weighing more than 1 kg will attract 36% duty
