One thing I have observed with people giving written test first time in US is they don't understand the terminology.. like they confuse or unaware of meaning/differences between Ramp, Curb, Shoulder, pavements etc words due to which they misinterpret question.. I would suggest when you read the dmv rules book, try to understand the concept rather than just look for answer or google the picture of it to better understand scenario.. you will get all scenario's in pictorial form if you do google search.. Also if you are doing carpool currently, I suggest you observe the road and ask questions to your friend, that plays major role.. don't rush to give exam now.. first learn rules..
