Yes you can drive with your Indian license for 1 year but you need to carry your passport copy and a copy of I-94 with you when you are driving. I-94 will make sure you still fall under 1 year timeframe. This rule is applicable only in few states and CT is one of them. I have driven my car for atleast 8 months on Indian licence and 2-3 times I was stopped by cops but none of them questioned me back on my license. You dont need IDP( International driving permit) unless your Indian license is not in English. Safe Driving and plan to appear for road test asap and get a permanent CT license.
